Discover how to preserve & protect historic cemeteries!

The A. Quinn Jones Museum & Cultural Center and the Florida Public Archaeology Network are partnering to offer a public Cemetery Resource Protection Training workshop!

Learn about historic cemetery care, laws & management, followed by a hands-on training at Pine Grove Cemetery, one of Gainesville’s oldest African-American burial grounds.

This event is free and open to the public.

Schedule:

10 am-12:30 pm: Welcome & classroom portion

12:30-1:30 pm: break for lunch on your own–or bring a lunch and enjoy the beautiful patio at the museum!

1:30pm: meet at Pine Grove Cemetery (1041 SE 22nd Ave. Gainesville FL.)

We recommend wearing closed-toed shoes and clothes you don’t mind getting a little dirty. Headstone cleaning can get a little messy!
